Planned observational studies of HI during the Epoch of Reionization (EOR) are diverse, including wide-field measurement of a global “step” in temperature and its redshift, characterization of the angular power spectrum for HI brightness fluctuations as a function of redshift, and comparatively narrow-field imaging of cosmological HII regions around specific embedded quasars. LOFAR, MWA/LFD, and PAST are large programs intended to create instruments that support a broad range of investigation. I will review several smaller (fast-paced) programs and development efforts that focus more narrowly on specific predictions made by theories of the reionization. These projects include the ATNF global step experiment, the SAO/NRAO VLA EOR Extension, and the Berkeley/NRAO PAPER project.
