The study of LIRGs and ULIRGs is important for understanding galaxy formation and evolution because they contribute significantly to the cosmic IR luminosity budget. Deep 70 micron imaging can detect LIRGs and ULIRGs at redshifts of 1 to 2. Preliminary results from 70 micron imaging of the Hubble Deep Field North are presented here. A sensitivity of ~0.5 mJy rms is achieved in the deepest region. We present 70 micron source counts and compare them to galaxy evolution models. Source infrared colours and redshifts are also shown.
