I have repaired and reflown an existing sounding rocket payload (ISIS: Imaging Spectrometer for Interstellar Shocks) to observe the OVI 1032, 1038 Åemission doublet from a non-radiative shock in the north-east section of the Cygnus Loop supernova remnant. I have analyzed the images to determine the total flux emitted by the shock and the distance between the OVI-emitting gas and the shock front in visible light, as well as determining the N(CIV)/N(OVI) and N(NV)/N(OVI) column density ratios behind the shock. The purpose of these measurements is to discern between models of the dominant cooling process causing temperature equilibrium of charged particles in the hot shocked gas of the interstellar medium.
