[144.01] The Cosmic Microwave Background and Dark Energy

D. Spergel (Princeton University)

Observations of the microwave background probe both physical conditions at the surface of last scatter and physical effects along the line-of-sight. I will review how these observations have reinforced the evidence for the existence of dark energy and show how new observations can be used to constrain the dark energy properties.
