[18.08] Covering of the Outflow in Mrk 279

We examine the covering fractions of the intrinsic absorption lines of Mrk 279 in three epochs of FUSE data and two epochs of STIS data. We explore the extent to which partial covering of the emission lines and the variation of those emission sources can explain the observed changes in the absorption profiles. We also present a C III absorption signature which presents a challenge to our photoionization model of the outflow.
