[33P.04] Accessing the Planetary Literature through the ADS Abstract and Article Services

G. Eichhorn, M.J. Kurtz, A. Accomazzi, C.S. Grant (Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory)

The ADS Abstract Service contains a large part of the planetary literature. We currently index on a regular basis the tables of contents for the latest issues of Meteoritics and Planetary Sciences, Icarus, JGR Planets, Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, Earth and Planetary Science Letters, Planetary and Space Science, and Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors. For Icarus and Meteoritics and Planetary Sciences we also index the abstracts for each article. For the older literature we have for instance the complete bibliography from the Lunar and Planetary Institute in the ADS, as well as many NASA reports, and other NASA publications in addition to the regular journal articles. This system allows for easy and fast searching of the planetary literature.

We have scanned Meteoritics and Planetary Sciences and make the complete journal available through the ADS Article Service from Volume 1. The latest issues go on-line 1 year after publication.

I am interested in indexing abstracts from conference proceedings as well. If you are the editor or organizer of a conference and would be interested in having the abstracts from your conference available through the ADS, please contact me at gei@cfa.harvard.edu
