We present time-series photometry in the V and I passbands for the metal-rich globular cluster NGC 6316. A color-magnitude diagram indicates the cluster has a red horizontal branch. A dozen red, long-period variable stars populate the (asymptotic) red giant branch, while a handful of blue variables exist, several just blueward of the red clump. We derive periods and produce light curves for the blue variables, and consider whether any are RR Lyrae members of the cluster, akin to the longer-period RR Lyrae members of NGC 6441 and NGC 6388.
