[11.13] A Low-Resolution Spectrograph for Small Telescopes and CCDs

T. F. Ramseyer, B. Ledden, N. Gaiser (Univ. of Central Arkansas)

We will present our design for and preliminary data from a low-resolution optical spectrograph for use with small telescopes and a CCD camera. The spectrograph has been designed with amateur astronomers and smaller undergraduate institutions in mind: it is simple and inexpensive to construct, has a high throughput, and is easy to operate. A prism is used as the dispersing element. The design allows for both imaging (for target acquisition) and spectroscopy.
