[50.26] Circular Polarization Imaging of four AGN with the VLBA

J. F. C. Wardle, D. C. Homan (Brandeis University)

We present multi-epoch circular polarization images of four AGN made with the VLBA at 15 GHz. The sources are the quasars 3C273, 3C279, PKS0528+134, and the nearby galaxy 3C84. In each source, the circularly polarized signal is present at every epoch, sometimes at local fractional levels exceeding one percent. We also discuss the special techniques needed for the detection of circular polarization with the VLBA.

This work was supported by the NSF and by NASA.
