[55.01] Near Surface Magneto-Convection

D.J. Bercik, R.F. Stein (Michigan State University), A. Nordlund (Theoretical Astrophysics Center, Denmark)

The emergence of magnetic flux alters the structure of the solar surface. We use simulations of magneto-convection of a near surface layer to investigate the dynamical interaction between magnetic fields and convection. The results of these simulations are presented to show the behavior of emerging flux tubes as well as the three dimensional structure and evolution of bright points and small pores.
