[56.05] The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey: Survey Design and Clustering Results from 100000 redshifts

G.B. Dalton (University of Oxford, UK), 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey Team

The 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey will encompass 250,000 galaxy redshifts to a limiting magnitude of bJ=19.45 selected from the APM Galaxy Survey. The survey is now well on track, and 100,000 redshifts have been obtained to date.

Here we present an overview of the survey design, and discuss the results of preliminary analyses of clustering measures that can be obtained from the present dataset, as well as pointers to the likely quality of the final survey data which should be completed by late 2001.
