[34.12] Chandra Observations of Lensing Clusters of Galaxies

M. W. Bautz (MIT Center for Space Research)

I present and discuss deep Chandra images of a number of galaxy clusters, some of which are strong gravitational lenses. I describe the X-ray properties of lensed background objects in these fields, and discuss the implications of these new Chandra detections for the X-ray/sub-millimeter connection. I present spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopy of the core cluster emission, and consider its implications for the dynamical state and mass distributions of these objects.
