[1.01] Chandra Spectroscopy and other Recent X-ray Results from Narrow-Line Seyfert 1s

T.J. Turner, I.M. George, T. Yaqoob (NASA/GSFC & UMBC), P. Romano, S. Mathur, B. Peterson (Ohio State University), G.A. Kriss (STSCI), W. Zheng, J. Wang (Johns Hopkins University), D.M. Crenshaw (Catholic University)

The first Chandra results from grating observations of Seyfert galaxies have provided exciting new insight into physical conditions of circumnuclear material in AGN. A brief historical summary of X-ray spectroscopy of AGN will be presented, and new Chandra results will be reviewed and discussed. Particular emphasis will be placed on the differences between Broad-Line and Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxies. In addition, preliminary new X-ray results will be presented from two major multi-waveband campaigns which monitored the Narrow-Line Seyfert 1s, TonS180 and Ark 564.

This work was supported by LTSA NAG 5-7385.
