[54.02] Women's Science Forum: Outreach to High School Girls

M. E. Donahue (Space Telescope Science Institute), Lisa Wyckoff (Maryland Science Center)

We present the experience and ``lessons learned'' over five years of hosting outreach programs from women scientists for high school girls, with a special emphasis on our latest and most successful program that was the first to involve the Maryland Science Center as a site and a collaborator. We hope that other astronomers developing outreach programs of their own can learn from our experiences. We will describe our recruitment efforts for both participants and volunteers, our program contents, our collaborations with other local science organizations including the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and our evaluation techniques and results.
