Massive black hole (MBH) masses are tightly correlated with the stellar luminosity and velocity dispersion in the host galactic bulge. However, the masses of MBHs in Active Galactic Nuclei estimated from broad emission lines by reverberation mapping seem to be smaller than predicted by the mass-to bulge luminosity relation in ordinary galaxies (Wandel 1999, ApJ 519, L39), yet apparently they are consistent with the black hole mass - host bulge velocity dispersion relation. These results and new data may be related to the difference between active and non-active galactic nuclei and bulges. In particular, they may indicate that Seyfert galaxies follow a different Faber-Jackson relation than non-active galaxies. Support by BSF grant 1999336 is acknowledged.
