[8.11] The Near-IR Continuum Emission in the ISM of Galaxies

N. Lu (IPAC/Caltech)

Using the ISO spectroscopic data of a large sample of galaxies, we show that gas-bearing galaxies generally have a near-IR continuum in excess of their photospheric emission. We will discuss the spectroscopic propeties of this continuum emission and argue that it arises from the ISM of galaxies.
