[70.04] Transforming Undergraduate Science Education

R. McCray (JILA, U. of Colorado)

I'll describe: (1) how efforts to transform Astronomy 101 align with the goals the NRC Committee on Undergraduate Science Education, which I chair; (2) how information technology might be used to advance these goals; and (3) some experiences from our efforts to transform astronomy 101 at the University of Colorado.

My work has been supported by grants from the NSF and the Pew Grant Program in Course Redesign.
