In support of the OSS education and public outreach mission, STScI is announcing the opportunity for current Hubble Fellows and accepted HST Cycle 11 GO/AR/SNAP researchers to submit proposals for an E/PO extension to their "parent" research proposal. The spirit of the HST Cycle 11 E/PO Grant Program is to encourage collaborative efforts between professional astronomers/space scientists and professional educators that would broaden the knowledge and understanding of the latest discoveries of the Hubble Space Telescope. The proposed E/PO program should have some degree of intellectual linkage to the objectives of the "parent" research proposal and/or the science expertise of its Principal Investigator (PI). The goal is to provide K-12 and community college education institutions, pre-service and in-service educators, and museums, science centers and planetariums with current astronomy/space science content. Up to $10,000 per year may be proposed for an E/PO program, with a possible teamed effort of $50,000. The Call for Proposals will be released the first week of February. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Friday, 22 March 2002 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
This poster will provide potential proposers an opportunity to find out more about the grant program.
