[75.07] Infrared Photometry of the Interesting Nova-like Variable V838 Monocerotis

We report 1-20 micron photometry of the interesting nova-like variable V838 Mon obtained 20-25 February 2002. This epoch corresponds to a local minimum in the visual light curve of the object. Modeling of the spectral energy distributions obtained during this epoch suggests the emission arises from two components, a T = 3000K blackbody and a T = 10,000K free-free component. The blackbody temperature is consistent with that reported by Lynch et al. in IAUC 7829. Our data do not indicate the onset of dust formation during this time.

Infrared Astronomy at the University of Minnesota is supported by NASA and the US Air Force.
