[13.04] Hubble Space Telescope Imaging of Globular Clusters in the Face-on Galaxies UGC 5981 & UGC 6614

J. H. Kim, S.S. McGaugh (University of Maryland)

We present a study of the globular cluster systems of two face-on galaxies, UGC 5981 and UGC 6614, from WFPC2 images in the F555W and F814W filters. We perform photometry study on these two low-surface brightness galaxies, particularly in order to extract the specific globular cluster frequeny(SN), which is believed to be correlated with the stellar population and the Hubble type. This study can extend the characteristic of SN to low-surface brightness galaxies.
