[124.01] WIYN Open Cluster Study: Optical/Infrared Photometry

A. J. Grocholski, A. Sarajedini (U. of Florida)

The primary goal of this project is to compare optical/near-infrared open cluster photometry with stellar isochrones. To facilitate this comparison, we combine optical data from the WIYN Open Cluster Study and other published studies with near-infrared (JHK) photometry from the 2nd Incremental Data Release of the 2MASS Point Source Catalog for six open clusters. These data are then compared with theoretical models produced by five groups working in this field. By combining data from these two wavelength regimes, we increase the color baseline over which the agreement (or lack thereof) between observations and models can be investigated.

We acknowledge support for the photometric portion of the WIYN Open Cluster Study from NSF grant AST-0196212 to the University of Florida.
