Ultra-deep Chandra imaging of the Antennae conclusively shows the presence of extended low surface brightness bubble-like structures, 10 kpc in diameter, to the south of the system, as well as a more extensive low surface brightness halo. We present the observed properties of these structures, calculate the gas mass and energetics involved in them, and discuss the mechanisms which may have generated them, and their implications for the future evolution of the eventual merger remnant.
