[22.07] First SIRTF-IRS Extragalactic Results

B. R. Brandl (Cornell, Sterrewacht Leiden), D.W. Weedman, V. Charmandaris (Cornell), T.B. Soifer, L. Armus (Caltech/SSC), T. Herter, D. Devost, S.J.U. Higdon, J.L. Higdon (Cornell), C.R. Lawrence (JPL), P.N. Appleton, H.I. Teplitz (Caltech/SSC), J.R. Houck (Cornell)

The first results from the SIRTF Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) extragalactic team program will be presented. We plan to show spectra of active galactic nuclei (AGN), starbursts, and interacting galaxies observed between 5 and 40 microns. These data will illustrate the power of SIRTF and the IRS as a probe of dust enshrouded star forming and AGN activity.
