Here are some of the first results from the NASA SIRTF Infrared Spectrograph (IRS) on dusty material around assorted infrared-selected stars, with ages between approximately 10 Myr and the main sequence, and on faint, low-mass stars. We use these spectra to illustrate the power of SIRTF and the IRS as a probe of the origin and evolution of stars and planetary systems throughout the disk of the Milky Way.
