[89.03] Our Allies

T. Lemons (TLA LIGHTING CONSULTANTS)

In addressing lighting issues that are of interest to AAS members, knowledge about the potential allies and their activities is important. These allies include the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA), the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA), International Commission on Illumination (CIE) and their US member CIE-USA and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD). The work of these organizations will be identified related to their various reports and standards relative to Obtrusive Light/Sky Glow and the preparation of an IDA Model Outdoor Lighting Ordinance. Information will also be presented detailing how to contact these organizations whenever an AAS member has questions about lighting issues.
