The purpose of this workshop is to support and coordinate the Deep Impact (DI) Professional Collaborators' program. The goal of the program is to obtain ground-based and space-based observations of comet 9P/Tempel 1 prior to, during and after the comet overtakes the impactor spacecraft on July 4, 2005, creating a crater that reveals the fresh, interior of the comet. Support observations are designed to optimize the total scientific return of the Deep Impact Discovery program mission.Organized by: Lucy McFadden (mcfadden@astro.umd.edu) and Dennis Wellnitz (wellnitz@astro.umd.edu)
