VLA-COSMOS is an ongoing state-of-the-art (1.7'' resolution) deep (1\sigma ~ 7.5\mum) wide-field imaging VLA survey at 1.4 GHz of the entire COSMOS 2 deg2 deep field (total: 23 VLA pointings). The large areal coverage of the COSMOS survey is chosen to avoid effects of cosmic variance, and to delineate structure on the largest relevant scales (~100 Mpc comoving). Here we present the first results on the faint radio population from this VLA Large Project. Amongst other things, our observations will allow us to study the dust-obscured star formation history as a function of environment as well as the the evolution of low luminosity radio AGN to high z.
