We show that our flux calibration technique enables us to perform a precise measurement of the flux decrement in the Ly alpha forest in the redshift range 2-4. We found that metal lines, Ly Limit and DLA systems contribute a significant variance to the flux decrement. We discuss cosmological parameters we obtained from the comparison of our measurements with numerical simulations.
