[61.04] The Spatial Distribution of Starburst Galaxies in the COSMOS Survey

S. M. Tribiano (City University of New York), COSMOS Team

The Hubble Space Telescope COSMOS observations provide data for over 20,000 starburst galaxies in a 2 square degree field with depth I > 27 mag. We report preliminary results on the two- and three-dimensional two-point correlation function of nearby and high redshift starburst galaxies. The results are part of the larger aim of understanding the relationship between star formation history and evolution of the large-scale structure.

This research is supported by the New York City Space Science Research Alliance funded by the NASA Office of Space Science in collaboration with the Hayden Planetarium of the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) and the COSMOS HST Treasury Project Team.
