We study the star formation rate (SFR) in galaxies in the COSMOS field. Different star formation diagnostics (U-band, UV/GALEX and radio) will be used and the resulting SFRs will be compared. Changes in SFRs as a function of environment will be studies, using galaxies at the core and outskirts of clusters. Also, we will investigate the role of interaction/morphology in SFR in galaxies.
In measuring photometric redshifts through SED fitting, we also determine the spectral types and local extinction in galaxies. We investigate the relation between spectral types, morphology and SFRs. Moreover, we study if dusty galaxies are more star forming.
