[88.04] Exploring the Connection Between the Black Holes and the Sub-Parsec Jets of Blazars With the Black Hole Finder Probe EXIST

H. Krawczynski (Washington University in St. Louis), EXIST Team

We discuss the prospects to use the Black Hole Finder Probe EXIST to explore the connection between the properties of supermassive black holes and sub-parsec jets of Blazar-type Active Galactic Nuclei. Time resolved observations of the broad band spectral energy distributions together with gamma-ray telescopes like GLAST and VERITAS will allow us to measure the parameters describing the jet on sub-parsec scales. The jet parameters can be correlated with black hole mass estimators. EXIST will thus shed light on the process of accretion onto supermassive black holes, jet formation and black hole growth.
