[32.03] Improved Cr II f-values with Application in the Eta Car -146 km/s Ejecta

The input from the laboratory spectroscopist community has at many occasions improved the analysis of the Eta Car spectrum. The Eta Car ejecta absorption spectrum has, for mainly iron-group elements, successfully been analyzed with a standard curve-of-growth approach. For a number of ions, such as Ti II, V II, Fe II and recently Cr II, the analysis has been dependent on accurate atomic data. The Cr II spectrum was observed to have lines with absorption depths not matching their oscillator strengths. New improved f-values were derived based on FTS Branching Fractions and Lund Laser Centre LIF lifetimes. We present a new attempt to derive the Cr II column density in the Eta Car -146 km/s ejecta using this up-dated set of f-values. This work has been supported through a STIS GTO program and is a collaboration between NASA/GSFC, Lund Observatory and Lund Laser Centre.
