[5.08] Renovation of the hall of Astronomy in Universum, the Museum of Sciences of UNAM.

S. Torres-Peimbert (Instituto de Astronomia, UNAM, Mexico), C. Doddoli (Universum, UNAM, Mexico)

Very modern museography, attractive equipment and great astronomical pictures are the signatures of the new exhibit of astronomy in Universum.

Three main sections constitute the hall: (a) stars and interstellar medium, (b) galaxies and the Universe and (c) astronomical instrumentation.

The main concepts are not only the description of the celestial bodies but also the idea that all bodies, including the Universe, are subject to continuous evolution.

In addition, there are several equipments to complete the display, namely: a representation of the vastness of space, a time line from the Big Bang to the present epoch, video clips from local astronomers and a section of history of astronomy.
