[45.09] Core-Collapse Simulations with Neutrino-Nucleus Inelastic Scattering and Pair Production by Nuclear De-excitation.

R.D. Tejedor, S.W. Bruenn (Florida Atlantic University)

A complete and accurate set of neutrino interactions is essential for realistic modeling of core-collapse supernovae. Cross sections for neutrino-nucleus inelastic scattering and pair production by nuclear de-excitation have been given by Fuller and Meyer (1991 ApJ, 376, 701), but have not yet been incorporated in core-collapse simulations. We investigate the effects of these opacities on the core-collapse scenario by comparing simulations which include each of these opacities with a fiducial simulation.
