We report on observations of the nucleus of comet 9P/Tempel 1 before, during, and after the Deep Impact cratering experiment. Results from the infrared spectrometer (1.05 to 4.8 micron; R~200-900) and multi-spectral visible images will be presented. These will include the highest spatial resolution spectral data for a bare cometary nucleus. In addition, we will monitor our impact experiment by obtaining spectral data of ejecta over time. Finally, by observing the crater and its surrounding ejecta deposits, we hope to directly observe the interior of the comet.
