[95.04] A Panaramic view of our Galaxy with GLIMPSE

B. A. Whitney (Space Science Institute), GLIMPSE Team

The Galactic Legacy Infrared Midplane Survey Extraordinaire (GLIMPSE) surveyed the inner Galactic plane (10 < |l| < 65, |b| < 1) with the Spitzer Space Telescope IRAC Camera. Point Source Catalogs and Archives of the survey are available on the Spitzer website. Cleaned and mosaic images of the southern half of the survey should be available by the time of this talk. I will show results from GLIMPSE, including evidence for a Galactic bar; the IR reddening law; recent results on star formation including discovery of many new outflows and disks; discovery of several new star clusters; and diffuse structure of the ISM, including filaments and bubbles.

This work was supported by the Spitzer Space Telescope Legacy Science Program through NASA contract 1407.
