[17.02] Far-Ultraviolet Stellar Photometry

E.G. Schmidt (NSF), G.R. Carruthers (NRL)

During a shuttle flight in May, 1991, wide field images were obtained for 12 star fields with the NRL far-ultraviolet cameras. These cameras provide sensitivity bands with effective wavelengths of $\lambda _{eff}$ = 1367 $\AA$ and $\lambda _{eff}$ = 1702 $\AA$. The properties of the resulting magnitude system will be described and compared with previous photometry from the OAO2, ANS and TD1 satellites. Results from several fields in the vicinity of the galactic center will be discussed.
