The x-ray binary pulsar Hercules X-1 was observed for a period of just over 4 days in 1997 by the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer (EUVE). The observation was scheduled to observe the early part of the Short High state of Her X-1. The observation also covered the turn-on to Short High, which has not been observed in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) band previously. We present the observations and compare to various models for the EUV emission.
