[73.07] SDSS Observations Towards the Draco Molecular Cloud

P. McGehee (Los Alamos National Laboratory)

The Sloan Digital Sky Survey has acquired photometric and spectroscopic data for objects projected against the low galactic latitude portion of the Draco Intermediate Velocity Cloud (IVC G091.0+38.0; MBM 41, vlsr = -21 km/sec).

We compare the on-cloud and off-cloud normalized distributions of stars within the (g*-r*, g*) color-magnitude diagram (CMD) for a number of stellar locus samples obtained from the reddening invariant color-color space. These differential CMDs are examined for the selective extinction signature of the cloud. We comment on the ability of this technique to provide distance constraints.

We also identify and discuss objects that meet the photometric criteria derived for low-mass magnetically active and pre-main sequence stars.
