[6.01] X-ray emission from the z~5 universe

T. Miyaji, R.E. Griffiths (Carnegie Mellon University), K. Ohta, I. Iwata (Kyoto University), M. Akiyama (Subaru Telescope, NAOJ)

We investigate the X-ray emission from z~ 5 galaxies detected in our deep V,I, and z\prime images covering the general area of Hubble/Chandra Deep Field-North (CDF-N) obtained using the Suprime-Cam attached to the prime focus of the SUBARU telescope. This set of filters have been chosen in order to create a comprehensible catalog of z~ 5 galaxies using the Lyman break technique and our preliminary catalog contains ~170 candidates over the Suprime-Cam FOV, covering most of CDF-N.

We report the preliminary results of our search for X-ray emission associated with those galaxies by means of source matching and stacking analysis of the \approx 1.4 Ms (and possibly \approx 2 Ms) of Chandra observations.
