This paper describes the new USNO-B catalogue, and presents a search for candidate occultation stars as a sample application. USNO-B is the successor to USNO-A2.0, and includes positions, proper motions, magnitudes in several colors, star-galaxy classification and associated uncertainty estimators for ~109 objects over the whole sky.
