[56.02] Probing the Circumnuclear Geometry of Three Seyfert Galaxies

R. P. Deo, D. M. Crenshaw (GSU)

We present an analysis of the relative orientations of the narrow-line regions (NLRs) in NGC 4151, NGC 1068 and Mrk 3 with respect to their host galaxies. The analysis is based on imaging studies of these Seyfert galaxies and radial velocity mapping of the NLRs through slitless and long-slit HST/STIS spectra. It has been shown that kinematics of the NLRs in these Seyferts favor a biconical geometry, which allows us to determine their inclinations with respect to our line of sight. We present the three-dimensional geometry of the NLRs and the nuclear disks of the host galaxies to probe the connection between the accreting matter, the outflowing gas, and the ionizing radiation in these Seyferts.
