[17.04] Spectral Evolution of Gamma-Ray Outbursts from Galactic Microquasars

G. L. Case, M. L. Cherry, C. Fannin, J. Rodi (Louisiana State University), J. C. Ling (Jet Propulsion Laboratory), W. A. Wheaton (IPAC, Caltech)

The BATSE instrument aboard the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory viewed GRS 1915+105 and GRO J1655-40 almost continuously from 1991 to 2000. Both of these objects are galactic microquasar candidates, and were observed to undergo repeated gamma-ray outbursts. We present results from the full nine-year BATSE earth-occultation database using the JPL data analysis package EBOP (Enhanced BATSE Occultation Package). Light curves with 1-day resolution are presented showing flux histories during the times when the sources were flaring. Also presented is the time evolution of the 35-1000 keV spectra from the rising, peak, and falling portions of the flares.
